Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all our visitors to Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club Clubhouse where we have Dormy accommodation with 4 bedrooms which are twin/double rooms. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

Pre-Arrival

  • Bus service to the golf club via Porthcawl, Pyle or Bridgend.
  • Nearest mainline railway station is Pyle, 5 minutes by car.
  • Nearest Airport is 30 miles at Cardiff International.
  • Taxi services available – please ask for details and we will arrange.
  • Allergy sufferers to advise us of requirements. Special requests considered.
  • Hospitals, dentists & opticians in Bridgend.
  • Arrivals welcome at all reasonable times, even outside normal hours.
  • Deposits required on advance bookings and payment on departure is by cheque, cash or credit/debit card.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • Exit M4 from Jct 37 - head towards North Cornelly, drive through North Cornelly until you come to a crossroads - turn left towards Mawdlam and Porthcawl - we are about 1mile along this road.
  • On arrival at the property please use the member’s car park past the clubhouse.
  • Disabled drivers please use one of the vacant officers spaces in the front of the car park
  • The surface is level, flat and tarmac to the front entrance.
  • We can assist guests with luggage
  • Nottage village is a few minutes’ drive from the clubhouse.
  • Sensory outdoor security lighting provided.

Main Entrance & Reception

  • The front entrance has one step 19cm high with a handrail. There is also a temporary ramp that can be used for disabled access on request.
  • The main door is 88cm wide.
  • On entry into the clubhouse there is a hallway 3.6m by 5.1m.
  • During Office hour’s reception is in the Secretary’s Office to the right through the main entrance. Out of Office hour’s reception is in the lounge/bar area to the left.
  • There is seating provided in the reception and bar/lounge area
  • The Office reception writing table 74cm high, bar is 109cm high.
  • There is carpeted flooring throughout the ground floor.
  • The Dormy Rooms are accessed via an external pathway which is 2m wide and signposted accordingly.
  • Sensory outdoor lighting provided.
  • The pathway is a combination of paving stones, loose chippings and concrete.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

  • The corridor to the bar is 3.6m wide.
  • The corridor to the secretary’s office is 3.6 m wide.
  • The corridor to the dining room is 1.25m wide.
  • The corridor to the main stairs is 2m wide.
  • Corridors have a good colour contrast and are well lit
  • The flooring on all corridors and stairs is short pile carpet
  • The dining room and guest lounge areas are on the ground floor.
  • TV lounge on ground floor with wall mounted plasma flat screen TV.
  • All bedrooms are on the first floor.
  • The main staircase has 16 stairs to a landing. The handrail is to the right and the stairs are well lit.
  • The stairs are 18cm high, 24cm deep and 78cm wide
  • At the top of the stairs are rooms 1 to 4 (4 twin/double rooms).
  • All rooms are en-suite.
  • The first floor has an audible fire and smoke detection system together with emergency lighting.

Public Areas - WC

  • Ladies toilets are situated on the ground floor with the Ladies locker room area to the left as you enter the lounge.
  • There is a disabled toilet situated off the lounge on the ground floor and is clearly sign posted
  • Gents toilets are situated on the ground floor at the far west of the building within the gents’ locker rooms to the right as you enter the building via the Spike Bar.

Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges.

  • Breakfast is served in the dining room on the ground floor. There are no steps, internal door width 1.25m.
  • Breakfast is cooked to order; special dietary needs are catered for. Breakfast menu provided.
  • Cereals and fruit juice self serve, table height 73cm.
  • Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
  • Tables have under space of 74cm high by 147cm wide and height of 73cm (legs on each corner). The chairs are without arms.
  • We do not play background music in any area of the dining room.
  • Breakfast is normally served between 8am and 9.30am. This can be varied to suit personal needs.
